OXYGEN NETWORK REBRAND

Oxygen is your one stop for all of your true crime needs. In this mock rebranding of the network, I teamed up with Caitlin Crooker to revamp their look with a series of eerie visuals that connect with the subject matter of the content they air.

Caitlin and I developed a motion system for the network. We built network wipes, lower thirds, a tune-in menu and social media templates, all of which can be customized to keep the visuals trendy and up to date.

THE SHARD SYSTEM

To coincide with the criminal theming of the network, we developed a generative system for transitions called “Shards”

Shards are fragments of a frame that flash suddenly before a cut. The essence of a shard is to mirror the puzzling nature of the criminal cases Oxygen covers in their vast programming. Each shard is a piece of the whole puzzle.

TUNE IN MENU

What’s a network without a tune-in menu?

Our tune-in menu has been built to mirror the highlighted annotations of a real world criminal case file.

On one side of the screen you can see the network programming on a torn page. As each show gets programming, we use the shard system to transition between promotional footage of the shows to come.

PROMOS FOR SOCIAL

For the Oxygen Network, we created a template for social media posts. This template is to be used to promote new shows or special episodes of shows that are already airing.

We used hand drawn scribbles to create an unsettling feeling throughout the promo to support the criminal context of the programs aired on Oxygen.
